QiK Stay is a hotel branding chain headquartered in New Delhi, India.[2] It operates as an online platform for booking budget hotels through its website and mobile application. As of March 2016, the company operated in over 80 cities in India and had more than 400 hotels listed on its website.[3] QiK Stay secured seed funding of $250,000 in October 2015, from venture capital firm ID Enablers.[4]

Establishment

QiK Stay was founded in July 2015 by Jasveer Singh and Anshuman Kapur. The company was conceptualized when Jasveer faced various difficulties in finding a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Gurgaon. This motivated him to enter this segment and eradicate the problems faced by many like him.[5]

Funding

In October 2015, QiK Stay received seed funding of $250,000 from venture capital firm ID Enablers. It is currently planning to raise another round of funding and is in advanced talks with several investors for the same. [6][7]

Growth

Started in July 2015, QiK Stay now operates in more than 80 cities in India where it has partnered with over 400 hotels.[8] It is present in all the major commercial cities and tourist destinations in India like Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Shimla.[9] In January 2016, QiK Stay's founder and CEO, Jasveer Singh, announced the company's plans to add 800 hotels and expand presence in 50 more cities by the end of 2016.[10]

Founder

QiK Stay was founded by Jasveer Singh, Anshuman Kapur and Ajay Trivedi.[2][11] Jasveer comes from a small district in UP called Etah, has a hospitality background and is a serial entrepreneur. He has earlier started & exited ventures like sparehousing.com (an online review and comparison portal for PG accommodations) and ZOZO Stay (an asset-light model for budget hotels available on hourly basis). He then pivoted the idea to create a chain of co-branded premium budget hotels and launched QiK Stay.[6]

Booking Platforms

QiK Stay can be booked from multiple platforms, including the QiK Stay App on Android, iOS and a person can also login to their website to book hotel room.[12][13]
