The Queensland Democrats is a division of the Australian Democrats, a centrist Australian political party espousing a socially liberal ideology. The Division is guided by the 23 party objectives, balloted by party membership in 1997. Policy for the party is balloted by members. Previous political representatives for the Queensland Democrats include John Cherry, Cheryl Kernot, Dr Michael Macklin, and the Rev. John Woodley. The current lead Senate candidate for the Queensland Democrats is psychologist and trauma expert Paul Stevenson.
