Róbert Puzsér (born in October 24, 1974) is a Hungarian publicist, anchorman, editor, and social critic.

Life

After he had graduated as teacher of History and Hungarian literature and language at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, he worked at a middle school as history teacher for one year. As critic of culture, media and society, he has been a regular guest in television and radio since 2004 and has had several stage appereances in the nightlife of Budapest. As free author, he writes magazin articles and essays for numerous portals, newspapers. He maintains the online platform szelsokozep.com with several co-workers for several years, where i.a. his own criticisms has been published in written and audivisual form, allowed to be discussed openly.

In 2012, he was member of the jury in the fourth season quarter of the Csillag születik Hungarian talent show, in the wake of that he became known nation-wide. His tough sentences and strict ratings made him a divisive person, his activity (albeit short-lived) implanted several fashion words and numerous phraseologisms into the Hungarian language.

He critisizes sharply, attacks (less frequently praises) various social phenomena, mainly the world of politicians, commercial televisions and boulevard[1] and the advertisement as an institute endangering democracy, capitalism and human rights.[2]

He launched discussions with more or less reflection from public life. Meanwhile he did not join definitely the "wagon camp" of a political party or TV channel, he considers himself as an "outsider",[3] although he was close to the party called LMP,[4] therefore he helped the party by creating a campaign film,[5] but later he moved away from the party.[6]

He got a constant separate column in the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet in 2015.[7]
