R.A.C.L.A. is the first Romanian hip hop group from Bucharest, Romania, founded by brothers Călin "Rimaru" Ionescu and Daniel "Clonatu'" Ionescu in 1993. One of the earliest hip hop acts, their debut album was the first hip hop record to be released in Romania. The group's name is an acronym that has stood for various phrases throughout the group's history, starting with "Rapperi Albi Concep Legal Avertismente " (White Rappers Legally Conceiving Warnings), it went through a number of other meanings before finally settling for "Rime Alese Care Lovesc Adânc" (Selected Rhymes That Hit Deeply).[1][2][3]

After departing from the group in 1998, member Clonatu' ended his involvement with music and focused on a business career. Rimaru has since used the group's fame to launch the careers of various emcees and deejays who have been members of R.A.C.L.A. throughout the years, amongst them K-Gula, DJ Dox, or Connect-R.[4][5]
