RIAS Insurance

RIAS is a specialist provider of insurance products for the over 50s age group. They serve almost a million general insurance policies for car, home, travel, caravans and life plans.[1][2]

History

RIAS is a trading name of Ageas Retail Limited, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and their firm reference number is 312468.[3][4] It was established in 1992 by David Holden[5] originally offering insurance products from a panel of insurers. RIAS was part of Fortis Group, until Fortis adopted an Ageas UK name, reflecting the company’s status as a standalone global insurance group.[6]

Operations

The Managing Director of RIAS is Peter Corfield and their offices and call centres are based in Bournemouth.[7]

Awards

RIAS Home, Car and Breakdown Insurance have been awarded a Defaqto 5 Star Rating for its comprehensive level of cover.[8][9] RIAS has also received a total of 5 Intelligent Choice Awards from Customer intelligence, including Home insurance Customer satisfaction, Home Insurance Customer Service and Motor insurance Customer satisfaction from April 2013 to June 2014.[10] In December 2014 RIAS home insurance has been awarded Recommended Provider from Which?.[11]
