Rabi' al-thani
Rabī’ al-ThÄnÄ« (Arabic: ربيع الثاني‎, also transliterated RabÄ«Ê¿ al-á¹®ÄnÄ«, IPA: [raˈbiËÊ• æθˈθæËniË]) is the fourth month in the Islamic calendar. It is also known as RabÄ«` al-Ä€khir (ربيع الآخر, also transliterated RabÄ«Ê¿ al-ʾĀḫir/rabÄ«Ê» al-Äḵir, IPA: [raˈbiËÊ• ˈʔæËxɪr]).
Timing
The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, and months begin when the first crescent of a new moon is sighted. Since the Islamic lunar calendar year is 11 to 12 days shorter than the solar year, RabÄ«' al-ThÄnÄ« migrates throughout the seasons.
