Racing Steps Foundation
The Racing Steps Foundation, abbreviated as RSF, is an organization founded by Graham Sharp in 2008 with former Formula One driver John Surtees as the ambassador for the organization. RSF aids young British racing drivers in the junior categories of Formula Three, Formula Renault 2.0, Formula Renault 3.5, Indy Lights and karting. The Racing Steps foundation also run a number of riders in the Moto GP Moto3 Class. Two drivers have graduated from RSF, and are now racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Currently, there are three drivers in three different formula racing categories being backed by the RSF.[1] They are:
- Jake Dennis (FIA European Formula 3 Championship, Carlin)
- Oliver Rowland (World Series by Renault, Fortec Motorsport)
- Ben Barnicoat (World Series by Renault, Fortec Motorsport)
- Jack Harvey (Indy Lights, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports)
The RSF also backs one kart driver:
- Josh Smith (KFJ karting) ART Grand Prix
Motorcycle racers include:
- John McPhee (Moto3 World Championship, Racing Team Germany)
- Wayne Ryan (FIM CEV International Moto3 Championship, Calvo)
RSF Graduates:
- Oliver Turvey (WEC LMP2, Jota Sport & McLaren F1 test driver)
- James Calado (WEC GTE Pro, AF Corse)
