Rafa Esparza

Rafa Esparza (born in 1981) is an American artist.[1]

Early life

Esparza was born in Los Angeles, California to Mexican parents. He attended East LA City College.[2] In his early twenties, followed by UCLA.

Career

Esparza has performed at several parks, museums, nightclubs, and galleries in Los Angeles. His work often takes the form of installations, and physically exhaustive performances. Esparza also frequently works with collaborators, including members of his family.[3]

Esparza performed in Dorian Wood's "O" video.[4]

Esparza will be included in the 2016 iteration of the Hammer Museum's biannual for Los Angeles Artist.[5] Esparza received an Art Matters grant in 2014[6]
