Rainas is a municipality of Lamjung District in Gandaki Zone of central Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Tarkughat, Dhamilikuwa, Chakratirtha, Bhalayakharka, Pyarjung and Mohoriyakot village development committees (VDCs)[1]Thaving a total of 73 square km.he center of the municipality is established in the former Mohoriyakot VDC of Teenpipale Bazaar. After merging the six VDCs population it had a total population of 18,527 according to 2011 Nepal census.[2] The population density of Rainas is 254 person/sq. km.
Municipality
The Government's announcement of additional 26 new municipalities has totaled 217 municipalities in the country. With this announcement Rainas has been upgraded as one of the municipalities of Nepal, previously it was proposed municipality. Adjoining Tarkughat, Dhamilikuwa, Chakratirtha, Bhalayakharka, Pyarjung and Mohoriyakot VDC was merged with Rainas to upgrade it to the municipality.
