Rainbow Falls State Park is a 139-acre (56 ha) Washington state park located near the town of Dryad. The park features 3,900 feet (1,200 m) of shoreline on the Chehalis River, the waterfall for which the park is named, and some of the last standing old-growth trees in the Chehalis Valley.[2]

History

The Civilian Conservation Corps built the park and its log structures in 1935. In 2007, the park suffered severe flooding which destroyed bridges along the Willapa Hills Trail[2] as well as the park's main entrance.[3] Park-goers began using an alternate entrance to the park in May 2008.[4]

Activities and amenities

The park's campground features 39 standard campsites, eight utility campsites, restrooms, showers, a group space that can fit approximately 60 people, and a dump station. The park has approximately 10 miles of hiking trails and seven miles of biking and horseback riding trails.[2]
