The Rainier Beach Station is a Sound Transit Central Link light rail station in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle. It is an at-grade, or surface, station. It features center platforms. It opened on July 18, 2009.
Location
The station is in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South at South Henderson Street. It is in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle. The station is about ½ mile from Rainier Beach High School and Seward Park.
Other Transit
There are 3 bus stops located on the streetcorners adjacent to the station. The bus stops are served by King County Metro routes 9X, 38, 106 and 107.
Route 38 duplicates Central Link's route from Rainier Beach station to Mount Baker station, but has significantly more stops, providing local infill service.
Other features
The station is open air, in the median on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. It has many amenities, including public art,[1] bicycle racks, seating, and landscaping. 2000 daily boardings are projected for 2020.
