Rajani was a popular TV series aired on Doordarshan in the mid-1980s directed by Basu Chatterjee. It had Priya Tendulkar in lead role.[1] It became immensely popular for creating awareness among lax government offices and officials.[2] It was written by Karan Razdan who also acted in the series.
Storyline
Rajani, plays the protagonist, who fights a government laxity in every episode. It tried to reflect the mid-1980s state of services at government offices.
Casting
After Padmini Kolhapure opted out, Priya Tendulkar was convinced to essay the role of a crusading housewife who fights the corrupt, inept civic system.
