Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur

Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur is a registered society of the Advocates practicing at Jaipur Bench of Rajasthan High Court. The body elects its office bearers through direct election every year. The 2012 elections were contested on the issue of upholding legal ethics and a referendum against frequent and flash strikes by Advocates. The strikes by Advocates puts extra burden on already burdened Judiciary. All seven candidates for Presidency spoke against Strike. The candidates were Senior Advocate Mr. R. N. Mathur, Mr. Rajendra Sharma, Mr. Manoj Sharma, Mr. Laxmi Narain Bose, Mr. Ashok Bansal, Dr. Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma, and Mr. Mahendra Gaur.

Office Bearers

The Bar Association has a strength of about 6000 Advocates who elect 21 office bearers including executive members. The Executive Posts are President, Vice Presidents, General Secretary, Joint Secretary etc.

President

2013

Mr. Manoj Sharma was elected President by a margin of 213 votes over his nearest rival Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma.

2012

Dr. Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma is the current President of Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur. Dr. Sharma succeeded Karan Pal Singh. In 2007-08 Dr. Sharma was General Secretary of the Bar Association. A sportsman and keen follower of Cricket, Dr. Sharma takes keen interest in Cricket Administration in Rajasthan. An academic, Dr. Sharma did Masters in Public Administration in 1995, Bachelors in Law in 1998, and Ph.D in Total Quality Education from Rajasthan University.

Dr. Sharma was also President of NSUI wing of Rajasthan University in 1996. In 1997 Dr. Sharma became Vice President Rajasthan unit of National Students Union of India. In 1999 Dr. Sharma was appointed General Secretary, Rajasthan State Unit of Indian Youth Congress. Dr. Sharma was Vice President of Rajasthan State Unit of Indian Youth Congress in 2000.
