Raj Kumar Rai

Shri Raj Kumar Rai was a Lok Sabha member from 1984–89 represented Ghosi. He was also Member of (i) Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 1980–85, (ii) Public Accounts Committee, 1983-84.

Biography

Born on bhumihar family 1 January 1939, in Surajpur Village of Mau district UP. He completed his higher education M.A., LL.B from the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. He was married to Smt. Lalita Devi Rai with whom he had 4 children(2 son 2 daughters). He was a great leader,Political & Social Worker and Lawyer; jailed twice on the occasion of arrest of Smt. Indira Gandhi in 1977. he was quite popular among local people because of his helping nature.

Death

He died on 24 September 2012, aged 73.
