Rajyalakshmi (born December 18, 1964) is a South Indian film actress.[1] She was a prominent lead actress during the 1980s in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu films. She was well noted for her performance in the Telugu movie Sankarabharanam which she starred as the female lead alongside Chandra Mohan at the age of fifteen. Since her success from Sankarabharanam, Rajyalakshmi has acted as a heroine with many prominent actors from all corners of the Indian film industry including Rajnikanth, Balakrishna, N.T.Rama Rao, Nageswara Rao,Shankar, Mohanlal, Dilip, Jitendra, Mamooty, Vishnuvardhan. Currently she is acting in Tamil serials with occasional appearances in game shows and frequent movies.[2]

Family and personal life

Rajyalakshmi was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh on December 18, 1964. When she was young, she and her mother acted in small plays in an acting troupe. When she was at the age of fifteen she was chosen to play the part as "Sarada" in Sankarabharanam. She was married in the year 1990 to Ramesh Krishnan and have two children, Rohit Krishnan and Rahul Krishnan. She now resides in Chennai with her family.
