Ramesh Parekh was a Gujarati poet and lyricist from Gujarat, India.

Life

He was born on November 27, 1940 at Amreli. He studied at Parekh Mehta Vidyalaya and completed his metric in 1958. He joined Amreli district office in 1960. He started writing poetry in 1967.[1][2][3] He died on May 17, 2006 at Rajkot following heart attack.[4]

Awards

He won Sahitya Akademi Award for Gujarati given by Sahitya Akademi for his poetry collection Vetan Sud Beej in 1994,[4] Kumar Chandrak in 1970, state-level Gujarati Sahitya Akademi Award in 1979, Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak in 1986 and Kala Gaurav Award in 1989.[5][6] He received Uma-Snehrashmi Prize for 1978-79.
