Ramu Yalamanchi is an American-born computer scientist and internet entrepreneur of Indian descent. He founded the social networking website
hi5 and served as its CEO.[1] In 2007, Morgan Stanley’s Mary Meeker in her Technology / Internet Trends report [2] cited hi5 as the 10th largest website in the World. By 2008, hi5 was one of the largest social networking sites in the World,[3] the #1 social networking service for the Spanish speaking market, and a top 10 site in 20 countries across the globe. During college, Ramu was a partner at SponsorNet New Media. Ramu received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[4]
