Ramya Behara is an Indian playback singer who predominantly works in Telugu films. Ramya was born in Narasaraopet, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh and brought up in Hyderabad, Telangana. Her first film as playback singer was Vengamamba released in 2009. M. M. Keeravani, a renowned music director in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi cinema has introduced Ramya Behara to the film industry.[1] Her recent songs are for the movies Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi,Krishnashtami,[2] Bruce Lee - The Fighter, Baahubali: The Beginning, Temper, Oka Laila Kosam, Prema Katha Chithram, Loukyam, kothajanta, Chinnadana Nee Kosam and Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya. Currently, she is also singing for few Kannada, Hindi and Tamil movies. Her first Hindi film as playback singer was Baby (2015 film) for the song "Main Tujhse Pyaar Nahin Karti" composed by M. M. Keeravani.

Career as playback singer

Ramya says "I have never dreamt of becoming a playback singer. I used to hum the songs from movies and radio till my seventh grade. It was my parents who recognized my talent and motivated me." Behara joined Little Musicians Academy, Hyderabad, Telangana where she initiated her musical journey by learning classical music under the guidance of Shri. Komanduri Ramachary. Later on, she participated in giving stage shows through Little Musicians Academy.[3]

Ramya Behara was one of the finalist of Super Singer - Season 4 (a popular music talent show in MAA TV). She was one of the mentor in Super Singer - Season 8. She says "Shri. M. M. Keeravani and Shri. Komanduri Ramachary are the two main people behind my success into Telugu film industry. Besides, esteemed music directors Mani Sharma, Anoop Rubens, and Mickey J Meyer have also encouraged a lot by giving an opportunity to sing for their musical compositions." Ramya is an ardent fan of eminent singer K. S. Chithra. She is also a follower of popular singers Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan.

Personal life

Ramya Behara is the youngest one in the family and has two elder sisters.
