Rasheed Wesley Sulaimon (born March 9, 1994) is an American college basketball player. He was the primary reserve off the bench for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team during the 2014–15 season before being dismissed from the team on January 29, 2015.[1] He transferred to Maryland to play his final college basketball season and is playing on the 2015–16 team.[2]
Sulaimon was selected as a McDonald’s All-American as well as a Jordan Brand Classic All-American in 2012.
College recruitment
Receiving offers from many colleges around the country, including North Carolina, Arizona, Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M, Sulaimon committed to Duke on February 10, 2011 during an unofficial visit, signing a National Letter of Intent on November 9, 2011.[3]

Dismissal from Duke's team
Sulaimon was dismissed from the Duke basketball program on January 29, 2015, after appearing in 90 games over three seasons.[4] He was the first player ever dismissed by Coach Mike Krzyzewski for failing to meet the standards set for a Duke basketball player.[5] “Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program,” said Krzyzewski. "It is a privilege to represent Duke University and with that privilege comes the responsibility to conduct oneself in a certain manner. After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program."[6]
Duke's student newspaper, The Chronicle, reported on March 2, 2015, that Sulaimon had been at the center of several sexual assault investigations on campus. [7] No criminal or University charges were filed however, and Sulaimon later denied the report in an interview with ESPN.[8]
