[1]Rashid Ahmad Muhammad Bin-Fahad ( راشد أحمد محمد بن فهد ) was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 1964. In February 2008, he was appointed Minister of Environment & Water of United Arab Emirates. He holds the following qualifications: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Environmental Health), University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, 2001; M.Sc. Environmental Science, University of the United Arab Emirates, 1994; B. Sc., Chemical Engineering, Northeastern University, Boston, Mass, USA, 1989.

His Excellency/Dr. Rashid Ahmed Mohammed Bin Fahad has already held the positions below:

1.Secretary General for GCC Standardization Authority-Riyadh (KSA) from 2004 to 2008.
2.Deputy Chairman of Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology Cooperation (ESMA) from 2005-2008.
3.Deputy General Manager of Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology Cooperation (ESMA) from 2003 to 2004.
4.President ofFood and Environment Lab-Dubai Central Lab Department-Dubai Municipality from 1997 to 2003.
5.Operations Manager-Dubai Municipality from 1989 to 1997.

In addition, His Excellency is also a member of Zayed International Award for Environment and board member of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM International).
