Rasigan Maharajh

Professor Rasigan Maharajh (born 8 November 1969, Durban), is an activist scholar based at Tshwane University of Technology, where hies the founding Director of the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation.[1] He is also the Nodal Head of the National Research Foundation of South Africa's Centre of Excellence in Scientometrics and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy.[1]

Career

After gaining his PhD at the University of Lund, his academic career has involved holding posts at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Clark University, University of Natal, and University of Durban-Westville.[2]

Research

His research is mindful of the position of South Africa in the context of the global economy as one of the BRICS. Thus he analyses the development of Information and Communication Technologies in terms of the political economy.[3]
