RB Choudary gave him chance to direct Poomagal Oorvalam. The film starring Prashanth, Rambha released in 1999 to average reviews with a critic noting that "Watch it for comedy".[4] After the release, Madhuravan could not get enough opportunities instead wrote comedy tracks for Vadivelu.
