Rataul

Rataul is a village located in the Khekra tehseel, in the Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh state, India. [1] It is 25 km. from Indian capital Delhi, and also 7 km from LONI.

History

During colonial time the local area judiciary court used to operate in Raraul. Many of its people were active in the Indian Freedom Movements, and some Rataulis took part in Khilafat Movement.

Population

It is largely Muslims who live in this village.

Rataul has been home to many professional people, including like IPS, IAS, Doctors , Engineers, professors, teachers, NRI, Ministers, lawyers, Scientist, Manager, Business leaders and A class Govt. Officials. Many of the village's young people leave town to pursue higher education.

Agriculture

More than 200 varieties of mangoes have been grown in Rataul since about 1900 AD, and many are exported around the world. These have been awarded the "king of mangoes" international award many times.
