Raul Anthony Ramirez

Raul Anthony Ramirez (born 1944) is a former United States federal judge.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Ramirez received a B.A. from Los Angeles State College in 1967 and a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1970. He was a law clerk to the Hon. William Gallagher, Sacramento Superior Court, California, from 1970 to 1971. He was in private practice in Sacramento, California from 1971 to 1977, and was then a judge on the Sacramento Municipal Court, California from 1977 to 1980.

On December 14, 1979, Ramirez was nominated by President Jimmy Carter to a new seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California created by 92 Stat. 1629. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on May 21, 1980, and received his commission on May 23, 1980. Ramirez served in that capacity until his resignation on December 31, 1989.
