Critical reception

Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the song a review stating:[4]

Among our recent list of songs that deserved more success last year was Gorgon City's 'Real'. Given the likes of Duke Dumont and Rudimental had brought deep house back to the charts in a big way, it seemed only natural the duo's own take on the genre deserved similar success. Fortunately the pair – who go under the aliases Faomo and RackNRuin – have attacked 2014 head on with 'Ready For Your Love'. The track itself strips house back to basics, where synths are sprinkled over the verses only to be swept away for the looping chorus. It's [sic] simplicity allows fellow rising star MNEK to make his mark as the guest feature, his rich and distinctive vocal elevating an already uplifting track to new heights.
