Rebecca Walker (born March 2, 1968) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives since January 11, 2011 representing District 9.[1]
Education
Walker earned her nursing degree from Delaware Technical Community College, her Master's degree in nursing from Wesley College, and her JD from Widener University School of Law.[2]
Elections
- 2012 Walker was unopposed for the District 9 September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary, and was unopposed for the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 7,565 votes.[3]
- 2006 Walker initially ran for the District 9 seat to challenge Republican Representative Richard C. Cathcart, was unopposed for the September 12, 2006 Democratic Primary, but lost the November 7, 2006 General election.[4]
- 2008 Setting up a rematch, Walker and Cathcart were unopposed for their September 9, 2008 primaries, and Walker lost the November 4, 2008 General election;[5] Cathcart retired at the end of this term, having served from 2001 until 2011.
- 2010 Walker won the September 17, 2010 Democratic Primary with 970 votes (79.0%),[6] and won the November 2, 2010 General election with
5,583 votes (51.3%) against Republican nominee John Marino.[7]
