Rebel is an upcoming American television police drama series , created by John Singleton, that will debut on BET.[1] The series follows Oakland police officer Rebecca “Rebel” Cole, who after her brother was slain by police becomes disillusioned with the system and is forced to take matters into her own hands and become a private investigator.[2]
Rebel was picked up direct-to-series with eight episodes-order on April 20, 2016 by BET.[1][3][4] John Singleton also set to direct the series.[5]
