Recipe for Disaster is a novel by Ugandan author Lillian Tindyebwa.[1] The novel is used as a supplementary reader in secondary schools in Uganda.[2]
Plot
Recipe for Disaster is a story about Hellen Ntale. It follows the life choices she makes, how she gets expelled from St. Joseph’s Girls Schoola and how she leaves school three months to her high school final exams. She has a relationship with Kevin, a 42-year-old man, against her parent's approval. Kevin has HIV/AIDS, which he contracted from a former lover. He infects her with the disease.[3]
