Redlands College is a P-12 coeducational college with over 1300 students located at Wellington Point, Brisbane, Australia. The College is operated by an association formed by members of the Churches of Christ.

College History

Redlands College first opened in February 1988 with 91 students in Years 1-8,[1][2] housed in demountable buildings. The College commenced its permanent building program in its first year, with facilities for primary and secondary students and administration.

In 2007 the College was divided into three separate yet integrated schools - the Junior School (Prep to Year 5), the Middle School (Years 6–9) and the Senior School (Years 10–12).

Facilities

The facilities are architecturally designed for the Queensland climate. A number of larger facilities are shared by the whole school community, including a modern sports centre, a 25-meter heated indoor swimming pool, three ovals, a two-storey resource library, a number of computer labs and an expressive arts building.

The most recently constructed educational facilities include a three-storey Science Centre and multi-purpose hall for the Junior School.

iPad Use

Redlands College introduced the iPad Program in 2011 and the program was launched at the beginning of 2013. The program requires students from Years 2-12 to own an iPad which they carry throughout the school day to assist with learning in the classroom.

Student Performance

Redlands College has had multiple OP 1 students every year for the past 20 years. One quarter of OP eligible senior (25%) achieved an OP score of 1 to 3 in 2014, with 88% of students receiving an OP of 1 to 15.
