Bio
Suriname born swimmer Renzo Tjon A Joe made his appearance on the world stage at the age of 18, as member of the Suriname selection for the 2013 Junior Worlds in Dubai, UAE. In Dubai, he was a finalist in the 50 freestyle, finishing 7th, with a new national record 22.75. He went on to be the most successful athlete of Suriname in 2013 and 2015 and was named 2013'15 Male Athlete of the Year. In his country, he currently holds all national sprint records for the 50m /100m freestyle in long course and short course.
