ResellerClub, is a major registrar services reseller.[1] founded in 1998,[2] it is among one of the world’s largest ICANN accredited Registrars.[3] ResellerClub provides Shared hosting, Dedicated servers, Reseller hosting, VPS solutions, as well as Managed Servers, in addition to a complete suite of gTLDs, ccTLDs, new gTLDs, and other web presence and website security products.[4] It was later acquired by Endurance International Group in 2014.[5]

History

ResellerClub was founded by Bhavin Turakhia and Divyank Turakhia Through their platform, clients can buy and resell products such as shared hosting, domain names, dedicated servers, reseller hosting, VPS, DIY site builders, enterprise email, and SSL certificates.[6] [7] In 2008, ResellerClub took over 281,000 domains registered under EstDomainsInc after EstDomains was de-credited on charges of fraudulent activities, such as hosting illegal content websites and more.[8] [9] In 2010, ResellerClub initiated a Localization Partner Program, which leveraged crowd sourcing. This was done to find a way through which the control panel could be translated into multiple languages. [10]

By November 2013, ResellerClub halted all business operations with customers from countries such as Iran, Syria, Cuba, Sudan and North Korea. This was done as a result of the expected conversion into a U.S. based entity which required them to adhere to the U.S. govt. sanctions levied on these countries. Domain names registered for customers from Syria, Iran, Cuba, Sudan and North Korea were automatically transferred to RealTime Register’s sister concern, Resello.[11] In January 2014, ResellerClub was acquired by the Endurance International Group.

The different types of hosting currently available to ResellerClub’s clients are: Shared web hosting service, Dedicated hosting service, Virtual private server and Reseller web hosting.

Infrastructure

ResellerClub has its US servers situated at Texas 1, Data Center in Austin. It is powered by two stand-alone substations and is connected to more than 17 fiber-optic providers. Similar Data Center servers are set up in India, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Turkey.[12]

Business

ResellerClub enables reselling of domain registrations for country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) and generic top-level domain (gTLDs). ResellerClub provides Shared Hosting (Linux & Windows, VPS Hosting, Dedicated Server Hosting, Reseller Hosting(Linux & Windows), Managed Hosting, SiteLock, CodeGuard, SSL Certificates, Enterprise Mail, Business Mail and Website Builder[13]

Recent Developments

In 2012, the ResellerClub Hosting Summit was held in Mumbai which attracted more than 1,800 attendees. This was the largest web hosting industry event in Asia.[14][15] In 2013, the ResellerClub Hosting Summit in Gurgaon attracted more than 2,800 people representing web hosting resellers and providers, domain name registrars, web designers, internet service providers (ISPs), and data centers.[16] In December 2013, ResellerClub entered into a partnership deal with ThemeChilly which is a premium WordPress themes and custom WHMCS templates provider. This partnership was aimed at providing domain providers and web hosts with WordPress websites that were custom-built and pre-integrated with WHMCS templates.[17]

In 2014, ResellerClub partnered with iNET Interactive,[18] the parent company of HostingCon (HostingCon is a premier industry seminar and trade show, for providers dealing with hosting)[19][20][21] to produce HostingCon events in China, India,[22] and European countries.[23] In January 2014, ResellerClub was acquired by Endurance International Group which is expanding its presence in India.[24]
