Reuben David
Reuben David (1912–24 March 1989) was the founder of the Ahmedabad Zoo.[1][2] He was born into a Bene Israel Jewish family in Ahmedabad. He was a self-taught veterinarian. He was invited by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in 1951 to create a zoo in the city.[3]
Reuben David was honored with the Padmashri in 1975 by the Government of India.[4]
