Rex Randall was a fictional character in the UK soap opera Family Affairs, played by John Hopkins from November to December 2005 when the series ended.
About Rex
Rex arrived in Charnham in November 2005, as the new owner of The Black Swan, which was later renamed The Phoenix. Rex immediately caught the eye of local waitress Katie Williams, who had worked at the pub previously under landlord Pete Callan. Rex gave Katie her job back at the bar and they became involved.
Rex's sister Hester, later put in an appearance and made life difficult for Katie.
On New Year's Eve 2005, Katie discovered video evidence that Rex had murdered his last girlfriend. Rex, upon finding this, strangled Hester with her own pearl necklace, killing her. Rex then tied Katie up before planning what to do next...
The outcome of Katie and Rex's fates were left unresolved as the series drew to a close.
