The Rhinecanthus abyssus is a ray-finned fish in the family Balistidae found in the Pacific Ocean around the Ryukyu Islands of Japan.[1] It is found at depths ranging from 120–150 m.[2] It is the most recently described of 7 species in the genus Rhinecanthus.
Description
Rhinecanthus abyssus has 22-23 soft dorsal rays.[3]
Biology
Little is known about the behavior of this species presently.
