Rhyacornis is a genus of bird in the Muscicapidae (Old World flycatcher) family. Established by William Thomas Blanford in 1872, it contains the following species:[1]

The taxonomic placement of the two species in this genus has, over the years, been somewhat controversial.[2] Some ornithologists instead included them in the genus Chaimarrornis with the white-capped water redstart. Others subsumed both this genus and Chaimarrornis into the genus Phoenicurus, with the rest of the redstarts.[2]

The name Rhyacornis is a compound word created from the Greek words rhuax, meaning "torrent", and ornis, meaning "bird".[3]
