Rib Crib

Rib Crib is a table-service restaurant chain which specializes in barbecue and smoked meats, notable for their spare ribs, pork spare, and baby back ribs, and their bold, mild and hot sauces. All locations share a common theme of rustic lodge-like surroundings: "Western whimsical," as its founder Bret Chandler called it.[1]

The first Rib Crib opened in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1992, using a hickory-wood-burning smoker within an old house. Now, each location features a hickory-wood-burning rotisserie smoker that is gas powered.

The chain now has 50 locations in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa and Florida.

In June 2005, Rib Crib was in Restaurant Business magazine's "top 50 growth chains" list. Rib Crib had a 25% increase in sales in 2004 and planned a co-branded venture with KFC.[2] This venture took place in Marshfield, Missouri, promoting that a barbecue and fried chicken pairing would be successful.[3]

In 2006 Rib Crib was listed as one of the best places to work by Chain Leader magazine, due partially to its cash incentives for workers.[4] In 2014, Rib Crib took on a silent financial partner and planned on doubling size by the end of 2018 to well over 100 restaurants.
