Rice Valley
in extreme southeast California

The Rice Valley is a small tributary valley draining into the Colorado River from extreme southeast Riverside County, California.

Rice Valley contains the Rice Valley Wilderness.

Geography

Rice Valley is a mostly endorheic valley filled with bajadas from neighboring mountain ranges, and sand dune fields because of northwest and westerly winds. The adjacent valley northwest the Ward Valley (California) is also endorheic with Danby Dry Lake as its lowpoint. Southwesterly across neighboring mountain ranges are the two endorheic lakes Palen Lake and Ford Dry Lake, low points of Palen Valley and the Chuckwalla Valley.

The exit point of Rice Valley is a small drainage of the non-endorheic southeast region, called Big Wash. It flows between the Big Maria Mountains on the south, and the West Riverside Mountains on the north, and empties into the west side of Parker Valley on the Colorado River.
