Richard Büttner
Oskar Alexander Richard Büttner (28 September 1858 - 1927) was a German botanist and mineralogist involved in the exploration of the Congo.[1]
Büttner was a member of the German Congo Expedition, and visited the Congo between 1884 and 1886. In 1890 he wrote Resien im Kongolande about his travels. In 1890-1 he was in charge of a research station in Togo.[1] Büttner was also interested in entomology.[2]
The standard author abbreviation Büttner is used to indicate this individual as the author when citing a botanical name.[3]
