Richard Butler (British politician)

Richard Butler (born 3 December 1985) is a Hertsmere and Elstree and Borehamwood local politician.[1] He is currently Mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council,[2] Leader of the Opposition on Hertsmere Borough Council and the Leader of Hertsmere Labour Group. Richard stood as the Labour Party Candidate for Hertsmere in the 2015 General Election.[3] Richard attended local schools. He is the third of four children to Ernest and Shirley Butler, who were both very active in the local community.

Richard has been involved in the political structure of his hometown since the age of twelve, campaigning on issues around parakeets, skateboard parks, serving on governing bodies, Elstree and Borehaawmood Twin Town Association and Four Parks Association.
