Controversy

Fruit Heights, Utah

In 2007, the Gerber family purchased closed on a home with Richmond American in Fruit Heights, Utah. The city had issued a stop work order days before the closing. Fruit Heights then filed a notice to vacate in the next year.[1]

A controversy between the company and the family then ensued. In 2011, KSL News, the media outlet reporting on the story, said, "Since KSL contacted Richmond American Homes for a comment, the Gerbers say the head of the company’s Utah division has been in contact with them and said he wants another engineer to inspect the house." [1] An Internet search for "Gerber Fruit Heights, Utah" did not reveal a story more recent than the 2011 news item.
