Rita Barberá Nolla
This name uses Spanish naming customs: the first or paternal family name is Barberá and the second or maternal family name is Nolla.
Rita Barberá Nolla (born 16 July 1948 in Valencia) was the Mayor of Valencia, Spain from 1991 to 2015. She is a member of the National Council of the People's Party of Spain and was a Representative in the Valencian regional Parliament (Corts Valencianes). She turned down an offer to become a national deputy at the 2008 Spanish General Election,[1] but was made a senator by her party after losing the 2015 municipal elections. As such, she is only answerable to the Tribunal Supremo, and therefore could not be indicted for corruption by an ordinary judge like the rest of her team.[2] On April 21, 2016, the investigating judge requested her indictment for money laundering to the Tribunal Supremo.[3]
