Ritu Varma (Born 10 March 1990[1]) is an Indian film actress who mainly works in the Telugu film industry. She is best known for her performance in the award winning short film Anukokunda.

Early life

Ritu Varma was born and brought up at Hyderabad. She has done her entire education at Hyderabad and holds a bachelors degree in engineering. After completing her engineering she took part in Dabur Gulabari Miss Rose glow pageant and was declared the first Runner up.

Career

Ritu Varma rose to fame post her performance in the short film Anukokunda. The shortfilm won best film award at the 48HR Film Project competition in 2012 and also fetched Ritu the best actor female award.[2] The short film was later screened at the Cannes Short film Corner in 2013.[3]

After her appearance in Anukokunda, she entered Telugu film industry. She signed her first Telugu movie[4]Prema Ishq Kaadhal[5] in which she played the role of a costume designer opposite Sree Vishnu. Her next release was Naa Rakumarudu which was followed by Yevade Subramanyam.[6] for which she has been nominated as Best Supporting Role (Female) in IIFA Utsavam.[7] She has signed up two Tamil projects, China and Pirai Thaediya Naatkal.[8] In Telugu she has signed a rom-com Pelli Choopulu.[9]
