Riva Palacio is one of the 67 municipalities of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico. The municipal seat lies at San Andrés. The municipality covers an area of 808.97 km².
As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 8,012,[1] up from 7,811 as of 2005.[2]
The municipality had 155 localities, none of which had a population over 1,000.[1]
The municipality's name is in honor of Vicente Riva Palacio.
