The Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications is a ministry within the Government of Rivers State that is entrusted with formulating and implementing strategies to develop and promote the media sector in the state. The ministry is also responsible for the management and dissemination of information on government policies, programmes and activities. The Incumbent commissioner is Dr. Austin Tam George.[1][2]
Vision
The vision statement of the ministry is:
To have an informed and educated citizenry that is responsibly involved in their governance and total well-being.
Mission
The ministry mission statement is:
To inform, educate and mobilize the citizenry on the policies and programmes of Government in order to elicit their active participation in Governance and to attain self actualization.
