Robbie Peters is a retired English professional football midfielder and is currently a coach. He played in the Football League for Brentford and Carlisle United.
Playing career
Brentford
Peters began his career in the youth system at Division Three side Brentford. Playing in the same generation as Marcus Gayle, Paul Buckle and Ashley Bayes, Peters was part of the youth team which reached the semi-finals of the 1988/89 FA Youth Cup.[1] He made his debut for the first team during the 1989/90 season, but failed to win a regular place in the side, only making 17 appearances by the end of the 1991/92 season. With Brentford challenging for promotion from Division Three in the 1992/93 season, Peters managed only one league appearance, but after the Bees' eventual promotion to the new second-tier Division One for the 1993/94 season, Peters made 12 appearances. After failing to make any appearances in the early part of the 1994/95 season, Peters left the club in November 1994,[2] having made just 30 league appearances in five years as a professional.[3]
Woking (loan)
Peters spent part of the 1992/93 season on loan at Conference side Woking, making seven appearances.[4]
Slough Town (loan)
In January 1994, Peters joined Conference strugglers Slough Town on loan until the end of the 1993/94 season. He made 15 appearances and scored three goals for the Rebels.[5]
Carlisle United
Peters joined Division Three side Carlisle United in November 1994,[6] but managed just eight appearances during the 1994/95 season before being released in 1995.[3]
Non-league football
After his release from Carlisle, Peters dropped into non-league football and after a return to Woking, he went on to play for Chertsey Town,[7] Yeovil Town[8] and Aylesbury United.[9]
Australia
Peters moved to Australia in the early 2000s and won the Victorian State League Division One with Frankston Pines in 2007.[10]
Coaching career
Peters is currently a strength and conditioning coach with the Football Star Academy in Melbourne.[10]
