Robert Costin

Robert Costin is a British organist, conductor and teacher. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he was organ scholar from 1990 to 1993. His teachers included David Sanger and Nicholas Danby. He moved to New Zealand in 1993, holding organist posts at St Paul's Cathedral, Wellington and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland, before returning to the United Kingdom as Assistant Director of Music at Blackburn Cathedral. He was a major prizewinner in the Hamilton International Organ Competition in 1994. He is Director of Music at Ardingly College, West Sussex, and has held teaching posts at Worksop College and Bedford School. He has performed extensively in Europe, Australasia and North America.
