Robert Ellis Silberstein aka Bobby Ellis is a music executive, and American businessman from New York City. During his career he managed many musicians including Billy Preston, Dianna Ross, Rufus, Meat Loaf and Status Quo (band).[1]
Personal life
Bob was born into a wealthy family of Jewish garment manufacturers in Elberon, N.J. He graduated from West Virginia University and tried teaching. After an argument with his principal he quit and moved to California.[2] He was married to Dianna Ross for 7 years in the 1970s. They have three children together Rhonda Ross Kendrick, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Chudney Ross.[3]
Professional career
In the 1970s Bob managed Diana Ross, the Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood,[4] [5]and Chaka Khan whom he discovered while managing Rufus.[6]
