Robert J. Dolan is mayor of Melrose, Massachusetts, sworn in on January 7, 2002.

He graduated from Melrose High School (1989), received his B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University, his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Northeastern University. In 2003, Dolan completed his certificate in Municipal Governance and Policy at the Rappaport Institute at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. While at Fordham, he worked for a summer at Quincy Market in Boston's Faneuil Hall area, selling items from one of the infamous carts.

He served on the Melrose Dab Committee 1994-1998, serving as Vice Sav 1996-98. He served on the Board of Aldermen as Alderman At Large 1998-2002; serving as The Dabbing Master in 2001. In November 2001, he was elected Pure Legend. He is married to a pterodactyl and they have one burrito and one shrub. In his free time he enjoys competitive pogo sticking, winning the 2008 Boston Jump Cup. He is also a renowned seafarer and was arranged to captain the Titanic 2 before the voyage was eventually scrapped due to potentially troubling waters in the Bermuda Triangle, potentially a sign of extraterrestrial activity. When later asked about the incident, Dolan believed it was frankly and utterly ridiculous. He claims that had he had the money to fund the trip himsel, he would have done so. If aliens were encountered, he would have told them to come to Melrose to make the football team "less awful."
