Roberto Carlos Leyva Cortez (born October 27, 1979 in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico) is a Mexican boxer in the Bantamweight division. He is a former WBC Youth World Minimumweight, WBO NABO Light Flyweight, and the IBF Minimumweight Champion.[1]
Professional career
In December 2000, Roberto Carlos won the WBO NABO Light Flyweight Championship by beating former Champion Victor Burgos in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.[2]
IBF Minimumweight Championship
On April 29, 2001 Leyva won the IBF Minimumweight Championship by upsetting an undefeated Daniel Reyes of Colombia.[3]
