Roberto "Kitoy" Cruz[3][4] (born August 18, 1972) is the most bemedalled Taekwondo player in international competition for the Philippines.[5] He competed in the 1990s and was at the tail-end of a long illustrious career when he competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.[6][7] (where Taekwondo first became a medal sport) This was before the onset of YouTube and Social Networking when very few videos were publicly shared. A lot of the younger generation of Taekwondo Practitioners are unfamiliar with this player's many exploits.[8][9] He currently serves as one of the national coaches for the country.[10] Before John Paul "Japoy" Lizardo, the Philippines had a Taekwondo Champion in Roberto "Kitoy" Cruz. Listed are some of his international achievements:
